Resolving Error 8115 in Amazon Listings

Troubleshooting and Resolving Amazon Error 8115

Overview

A client faced an issue while attempting to remove a specific ASIN (B0CMFTG62V) from a parent listing (B0B9H14HGY) to make it a standalone listing. However, when trying to complete the process using a flat file, they encountered Error 8115, preventing the update from being processed. The remaining child ASINs (B0B9GYKTPT and U4-UW47-BNFX) needed to stay under the existing parent. Our team stepped in to resolve the issue.

PROBLEMS

Error 8115 Preventing SKU Separation

The client attempted to use a flat file upload to separate the listing, but it resulted in Error 8115, blocking the change from being applied

Changes Not Immediately Reflecting on the Detail Page

After making initial adjustments, the listing changes were not visible on the product detail page, leading to further delays in resolution.

Ensuring Parent Listing Structure Remains Intact

The client wanted only B0CMFTG62V removed from the parent while ensuring that the other child ASINs (B0B9GYKTPT and U4-UW47-BNFX) remained grouped under the correct parent listing.

ACTIONS

The CaptenAMZ team developed a structured approach to resolve variation issues, correct product categorization, and properly merge parent-child listings, ensuring better visibility and a seamless shopping experience.

Solution Implemented

Creating a Feed File & Attempting a Hard Update

We first created a feed file and performed a hard update on the SKUs to separate B0CMFTG62V from the parent listing.

Escalating the Issue to Seller Support

When the hard update did not work, we contacted Amazon Seller Support via phone for further assistance. Their internal team reviewed the issue and confirmed that the existing parent listing needed to be deleted to proceed with the update.

Deleting the Parent Listing & Reassigning SKUs

Based on Seller Support’s recommendation, we deleted the parent listing only and reassigned the remaining SKUs (B0B9GYKTPT and U4-UW47-BNFX) to a newly created parent, while making B0CMFTG62V a standalone listing.

Waiting Period for Changes to Reflect

Although the changes were applied, B0CMFTG62V was still showing under the old parent listing on the detail page. We followed up with Amazon Seller Support, and they advised waiting 28-48 hours for the removal to fully reflect.

Final Verification & Issue Resolution

After 24 hours, the changes were successfully processed. B0CMFTG62V was fully removed from the parent listing, and the remaining ASINs remained correctly structured under the new parent listing.
